Getting Ready to Announce Our June Innovators

After the successful May Mass Innovation Nights, we’re already looking ahead to our June event — we want it to be bigger and more fun even than May.  (That’s code for “we’re changing more stuff so listen up.”)  We’ll announce the companies soon (probably after the long weekend, just confirming a few things still.)

Of course, we are still tweaking the format — looking for ways to provide something for everyone.  We had great response to holding the event in the ballroom in May (approx 280 attendees, sizable jump from the 167 in April).  And, in June, the amphitheater is back online and we’ll hold some demos there.

Here’s where you’ll be coming in.  We’re going to “crowdsource” the decision on demonstrations in the amphitheater with website voting.  We’ll have 4 “formal” demonstrations (5 minutes max) and online voting will help us decide who.  By all means, if you have a favorite among the innovators, try to get your friends to stuff the ballot box — the more votes, the more people hear about the event and come to support our Massachusetts-based companies.  As soon as the companies are confirmed, we’ll post a poll.  You tell us whose demo YOU want to see.

The museum doors open at 6:00 for registration and networking.  We’ll kick-off with the first two demos at 6:30.  Then upstairs where we have a special surprise for you and we’ll open up the ballroom so you can meet the innovators themselves. Afterward, we’ll walk down Moody Street for drinks, snacks and more networking.  Biagio’s has their upstairs Plush Lounge set aside for us.

Remember, the event is totally free but there is a “price” for admission.  We want your help — blog, tweet, take a video, post a picture, tell someone.  We’re all pitching in to help out Massachusetts Innovators.  (This isn’t as altruistic as it sounds — we help them, they become successful and grow, and hire more local residents.  If this works perfectly, we’re in good shape to solve a host of problems, aren’t we?)

Recruiters, come on down.  We’ve got some great people looking for jobs.  Job seekers, you have something quite special to offer too.  You can help out with the visibility effort, meet some great companies and educate yourself about what’s cool out in the marketplace, all at the same time.

We’ve got a packed agenda and a couple of special surprises.  (In May we all got a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of one of the CyberArts exhibits.  That was fun, huh?)

Watch this space, follow @massinno (and @bobbiec and @highrockmedia ) for more Mass Innovation Nights news.  We’ll also be sending out the Mass Innovation Nights newsletter beforehand. If you haven’t signed up yet, you can send us your email using the “contact us’ form on this site.

See you soon! (Have you RSVPed yet?  Makes it easier for people to connect with you there.)
